About me

The escape
Artist

Hi there! I'm Logan, an adventure photographer and world traveller from down under, New Zealand. My passion for exploring the world on two wheels has taken me on some incredible journeys, and I'm excited to share my story with you.

Inspiration

Planting the seed

My love affair for motorcycle adventure began at the age of 14 when I first watched The Long Way Around with Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman. Up until then, motorcycles hadn't really caught my interest. But seeing Ewan and Charley's kitted-out BMW GS bikes and the remote, wild places they explored lit a spark. Although it took another 12 years before I actually started riding, that series planted the seed that would eventually grow into a full-blown obsession.

My first motorcycle adventure

What got me hooked

I was on a seven-month solo backpacking trip through Southeast Asia in 2016 when, just a week into my stay in Vietnam, I met a group of backpackers with a crazy plan to ride motorbikes from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. Despite having minimal experience with motorcycles and scooters, I was initially hesitant but equally as intrigued. Two days later, I bought a beat-up Honda Win, strapped my bag to it, and spent the next two and a half weeks riding south.

The journey was filled with breakdowns, blown engines, wrong turns, and countless ludicrous events. But despite the dramas, it was one of the most unforgettable and enjoyable experiences of my life. From that moment, I was hooked on bike travel.

Capturing the journey

After my adventures in Southeast Asia, I moved to the UK for five years. During my time there, I bought a BMW 650GS and toured around England, Scotland, and Wales. This is when I began exploring my pursuits in content creation and documenting my motorcycle travels.

I also had the amazing opportunity to borrow bikes from both BMW and Moto Guzzi for my escapades, including a brand-new 850GS and a V85TT. In exchange, I provided these brands with photography and film work, capturing the stunning landscapes and thrilling rides that I experienced.

Where Am I Now?

South America

On October 1, 2024, I flew myself and my Suzuki DR650 motorcycle all the way from New Zealand to Argentina. Over the next 12 months or more, I'll be touring around South and Central America. And if time and money allow, North America too!

With my recent interests in rock climbing and mountaineering, I'll be taking my adventures to new heights, uncovering the most alluring and awe inspiring places on earth.

This is my biggest solo adventure to date and I can't wait to share it with you. Be sure to subscribe and follow if you want to follow the action!
